☀️ In the past couple of weeks, the German Bundestag took a significant step towards a sustainable future. The German government’s proposal to amend the EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act) and other energy-related regulations, known as the Solar Package I, was debated for the first time on October 19, 2023 in the parliament.
👣 This solar offensive is another important step towards a successful energy transition. However, we at Deinland – like other players in the field such as the Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energien (BEE) – see that there is room for improvement in the parliamentary process, particularly in strengthening the PV business segment and local value creation for a resilient domestic industry.
🚧 Overall, we need to continue dismantling regulatory barriers and obstacles for all renewable energy sources. This aligns with the overarching public interest of advancing renewable energy. Now, it’s crucial for the federal states to step up and make these vital changes a reality.
